Create Positive Change through a Healthy Mind
Five Week Sessions
All three of the sessions below combine current brain research and science with powerful personal and spiritual development tools. They include an engaging combination of small group discussions, written reflections and a variety of mind/body practices including Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Develop positive new ways of thinking and living!
You’ll receive bang on guidance, great handouts and home exercises and you’ll open your mind to new possibilities and directions for your life. Participants have found these classes invigorating and life enhancing and report lasting shifts to positive new ways of thinking and living.
1. Changing Beliefs to Create the Life You Want
Mon Sept 17 to Oct 22, 7-9 pm (5 weeks -no class Thanksgiving Oct 8) $197
Most beliefs get established in your unconscious mind at a young age. They might have kept you safe as a child but many of them no longer serve you well. Some of them create stress and problems in your life yet because they reside in your unconscious mind; you might not know what they are or how to change them.
In this series you will find out what you currently believe (which may surprise you) and you will have the opportunity to change beliefs that no longer serve you positively. Once that happens, you’ll find yourself moving much more easily towards what you want in your life.
2. Uncover Your Values: Discover Your Purpose and Passion
Mon Oct 29 to Nov 26 (5 weeks) 7-9 pm $197
Do you really know what’s important to you? Create your own unique list of what is most important to you and clear up values conflicts that limit your ability to do what you want. Learn how to take effective action towards your goals and purpose.
3. NEW! Getting to the Heart of the Matter

Have you gone round and round trying different things to change something you don’t like about yourself or your life? Do you try to attract things into your life but they never happen the way you want them to? Do you wonder what started the whole problem off in the first place and how to let it go?
Getting to the heart of the matter is about using the vast capacity of your unconscious mind together with the guidance and wisdom of your heart to let go of what no longer serves you and to create what you really do want in your life. Coming to know how to get into your heart, effectively access and direct your unconscious mind, and find acceptance and peace about yourself and others is a balm to the worry and confusion of your life.
You’ll practice connecting to inner and universal guidance and ways to move past fear and limitations to unlimited possibility, passion, purpose and positive action. Current brain research and ways of creating neuroplastic change will be combined with ancient practices to create fast and lasting shifts in your mind and life.

1. Finding Abundance

If you aren’t getting what you want in your life, find out from your inner wisdom what you do want and how to make it happen with more ease and grace.
2. Positive Focus
Tues Oct 9, 7-9 pm $29
Do you know that people naturally tend to notice and remember the negative and what to avoid much more than what is good? It is part of the survival imperative that you have to re-wire if you want more positive focus and feelings in your life. Learn how to train your mind to focus on what is good about your life and reap the rewards of greater happiness, health and peace.
3. Your Curious Adventurer

Change doesn’t have to be hard. Re-connect with your curious adventurer to make positive change more easy and fun.
4. Awakening Inner Guidance
Fri Nov 16, 10 am to noon $29
Your inner guidance and wisdom is always there for you to tune in and connect to. Learn how to access the answers to your unique questions and concerns.
5. Moving Past Anger and Fear
Fri Nov 30, 7-9 pm $29
Do you want to let go of the anger and fear that create suffering for yourself and others? In this session you’ll explore what these emotions are, when they help, when they are a problem and you will be guided in an NLP technique for releasing the anger or fear you no longer want in your life.
6. The Law of Traction: Staying the Course
Tues Dec 11, 10 am to noon $29
Is it hard to keep moving towards your goals and the changes you want to create in your life? Learn how to gather some helpful ideas and participate in an NLP technique to release the root cause of your stuckness or procrastination to get traction and positive action going again in your life.

Fermented Foods Classes
Are you suffering from gut problems, low immunity or have you been told you should be using probiotics? Maybe you are looking for ancient secrets for radiant health.

This is a hot new trend coming from old wisdom and classes have filled up quickly!
1. Your Cupboard Farm: Fermented Vegetables Made Easy

Have fun learning about the healing power of fermented vegetables and taste and learn how to make your own sauerkraut and gingered carrots. You will bring home two of your own jars of vegetables ready to ferment at home.
2. Your Cupboard Farm: Fermented Beverages Made Easy

Have fun learning about the healing power of fermented beverages and taste and learn how to make milk and coconut milk kefir, water kefir, kombucha tea, and beet kvass. Milk kefir, water kefir and kombucha each require a starter (also called a SCOBY) and I’ll be giving them out to class participants to make your own at home.
Somatics Classes: Create a Healthy Relationship with your Body
1. The Daily Somatic Series
Wed Oct 31 to Nov 28 (5 weeks) 10 am to noon $197
Do you get tight and stiff? People all respond to daily stress and traumatic life experiences by reflex muscle contractions. When triggered over and over again, habitual muscle contractions develop. Eventually your body stays tight, stiff and sore because you’ve forget how certain muscle groups feel and how to control them.
In this series of six classes, you will learn The Daily Somatic Series, a set of relaxing exercises you can do on your own to bring awareness and control back to your body. You can eliminate or reduce your pain, increase freedom of movement, improve posture, and counter the effect of stress.
I’ve been a registered physiotherapist since 1988 and have been teaching Somatics in the Comox Valley since 2003. These popular classes are suitable for adult beginners of all abilities or as a review to wake up your body and rejuvenate your Somatics practice.
2. Somatics Refresher
Sun Oct 21, 1-4 pm $45
Have you fallen off the Somatic’s wagon? Would you like to refresh your practice and get some expert help making it even more effective? Come to a relaxing afternoon, review the Daily Somatic Series and get back on track again.
Sliding scale (reduced payment) is available as needed.
All classes happen in west Courtenay. Directions and instructions will be sent to participants on registration.
